Vanessa Hudgens is now a household name for many High School Musical fans. She started at age 8, began singing and doing commercials, and found almost a cult-like following as a co-star for the hit Disney Channel movie “High School Musical” also starring Zac Efron.
Early Life:
Vanessa Hudgens grew up in a close family in Salinas, California. Her early attachment to musical theatre honed both her voice and her acting skills which later caused her to think about seeking stardom in LA. She auditioned for commercials, received jobs on screen, and her family decided that she needed to pursue a career in acting.
Career:
Her early success in local theater, and landing jobs in commercials caused Vanessa to fall in love with acting, and she started showing promise in her roles on television. Finally, she made her film debut in the movie “Thirteen” as Noel.
Since then, she has hovered around the Disney Channel shows which catapulted her into a world of success. She sang in High School Musical beside teen heart throb Zac Efron. The two gained a cult following and which gave Vanessa the opportunity to record her own CD titled “V.” She also went on tour with the “High School Musical Tour” singing along side Drew Seeley, who did voice over for much of Efron’s parts in High School Musical’s parts.
Since the popularity of High School Musical, Vanessa was offered several contracts to appear in commercials for Neutrogena and Old Navy. Forbes reports that Hudgens is one of the top-earning teens and she is said to have earned 2 million dollars from the popularity given to her by High School Musical.
